The founders of St. Croix Forge established the company in the 80’s on a mission to make the farriers job more efficient, while making America’s finest horseshoes. They worked diligently with farriers, listening to and observing farriers efforts to forge a shoe. They listened to farriers expound on what would make their jobs more efficient.
The talented St. Croix workforce—built a better drop-forged horseshoe and what has evolved over the years is a product selection that found a broad acceptance in the North American market. Shortly after the introduction of the first drop forged horseshoes, farriers made the St. Croix Forge Brand the most widely used brand of horseshoes in North America.
Landmarks in St. Croix's accomplishments include forging clipped shoes, rolling toes, making wider webbed shoes, and creating 'European' style front-and-hind patterns that were sized, punched, and designed for the feet of American-bred horses.
Today that great foundation gets furthered each day with the dedicated engineering and production staff continuing to make world class advancements in horseshoe production and products. While the field and engineering staff continue working closely with farriers who provide feedback on what is needed.
